libwebp-dev software package provides Lossy compression of digital photographic images., you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libwebp-dev
libwebp-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libwebp-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libwebp-dev *
You will get with libwebp-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
